3 Patents Filed for This Incubator

● Airtight Ventilation with Thermal Insulation

A silent turbine draws air from underneath the incubator and directs it along the side walls, thus creating a warm air barrier. This system ensures the internal ventilation of the device.

Additionally, the aerodynamic design of this Borotto incubator provides it with uniform humidity inside.

● Universal Cell Device

A unique egg tray, it's the only one capable of vertically accommodating all egg sizes (from quail eggs to goose eggs).

Each compartment of this incubator allows you to place a chicken egg up to a goose egg, or 4 smaller eggs like quail eggs.

● Filling the Incubator from the Outside

Water refilling is done using small openings located on the outside of the incubator. This avoids opening the machine each time it needs to be refilled, which would result in a significant loss of heat and humidity with each refill.

When only one tank is filled, the humidity level inside the incubator is 40%. If both tanks are filled, the humidity level will be 65%.

Egg Turning (Only on Automatic Incubators)

The automatic incubator Borotto is equipped with a device to automatically turn the eggs continuously. The turning motor moves the eggs very slowly, completing a full turning cycle in one hour.

This patented egg-turning device imitates the hen that stands up several times a day and moves her eggs in the nest.

The automatic turning of our incubators involves tilting the eggs at 45 degrees on either side of vertical. This egg tilting movement is ideal for optimal chick development and ensures perfect protection of the embryonic membrane.

Usage

  • From the first to the 18th day, only one of the two tanks should be filled to achieve a humidity level of 45%.
  • On the 18th day, both tanks should be filled to achieve a humidity level of 65% to soften the shell, making it easier for the chick to hatch. The chick hatches on the 21st day.
  • At 18 days, it is important to remove the egg tray and place the eggs directly on the grid for more safety for the chicks. Obviously, the eggs should no longer be turned.

Artificial Intelligence

The incubator uses a digital platform that allows you to set the desired temperature value with a precision of 0.1 degrees Celsius. This technology works to maintain this constant value according to the variation of the ambient temperature to ensure perfect embryonic development.

The regulation exploits a feedback system typical of very sophisticated control systems.

Warranty

Professional incubator with a two-year warranty.

SUMMARY

INCUBATION: During incubation, maintain the temperature at 37.0°C and fill only one water tray.

HATCHING: During the last 3 days before the expected hatching, stop turning the eggs, spread them on the hatching grid, and increase humidity by also filling the second tray. Pour 2 or 3 glasses of water at the bottom of the incubator, then set the temperature to 36.5°C.

Periodic egg inspection during incubation (candling)

Candling is a complicated and delicate operation that can lead to mistakes and the elimination of fertilized eggs. Since it is optional, if you have no experience, we advise you not to perform it and to proceed with incubation. Otherwise, it is possible to periodically check the incubated eggs by candling them. This operation must be done in a dark room using an egg candler, following the table below:

Remove the eggs from the incubator one by one and inspect them immediately. The egg can remain outside the incubator for a maximum of 2 minutes. With some experience and using the designated tool, it is possible to perform the check without removing the eggs from the incubator. In this case, open the incubator and place the egg candler on each egg. The light beam allows you to see the embryo. Never turn or shake the eggs violently as this could lead to the rupture of blood vessels and the subsequent death of the embryo.

1st Check : beginning of incubation : Usually, it is difficult to see the embryo because it is integrated into the yolk : near the air cell and at the tip of the blood vessels are visible. If the egg is not fertilized, its interior is uniform, ``` Without blood vessels and the yellow is in the middle. In that case, eliminate the egg. At this stage, it may be impossible to see inside the eggs properly with the thick or brown shell: they will need to be checked at the second inspection. 2nd Inspection: Embryo development: Normally, the network of blood vessels is visible in the pointed end of the egg, and the embryo appears as a dark spot. If the blood vessels are not visible, it means the embryo is dead. 3rd Inspection: Embryo verification: Normally, the embryo occupies the entire egg, so the blood vessels should no longer be visible. The air chamber is large. If the embryo does not occupy the entire space, blood vessels are visible, the air chamber is small, and the egg white has not been consumed, it means the embryo is underdeveloped, and the egg must be discarded.
